i have a s21esna and want to know what to use to seal the two haves of the powerhead case. the part where the reeds are that connects to the part with the crankshaft
Though I have no specific knowledge of your application, generally in similar situations I've found a good quality gasket sealant like Permatex or Sikaflex products will give a good result - most auto stores should be able to provide correct product advice.
I might add that it's a good idea to be concerned about making a good seal on all crankcase gaskets. This applies to all two-cycle engines... there must be a very tight seal on all those joints or the engine won't run right.
If a four-cycle engine's crankcase isn't sealed well, it might just drip a little oil but run fine. If a two-cycle engine's crankcase isn't sealed well, the fuel/air mixture won't be pumped into the combustion chamber properly and the engine won't run right.
