There are so many sad songs but I think the saddest song I have heard recently is Carrie Underwood's - Just A Dream. I was a blubbering fool after hearing this song and watching the video. It makes me think of all those who have lost loved ones in war or just in general.

In my opinion the CD version is much better.

I thought of another sad song. It was originally done by Randy Travis but redone by Carrie Underwood. It's called "I told you so". It pulls at my heart strings every time I hear that song. Here is the link to it.

Hurt by Johnny Cash is one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. I could barely get through the video without the tears, just listen to the words, they are very powerful.

"Well I was drunk the day my Ma got outta prison..."

Surely you know the rest.

I'm too broke up to type anymore.

This is a tough one, but the song "Picture" by Kid Rock and Sheryll Crow has to be my saddest song. When I first heard it I was going through that exact situation. It really touched me.

Well before I heard that, I was going to say "Whiskey Lullaby" by Brad Paisley. There's something about bagpipes that touch my soul.

No question for me that's Blake Shelton with The Baby. It came out around the time we lost my Mother-in-law, whom I loved dearly. The wife still can't listen to it. It bothers me now as I contemplate losing my own failing 88 year old Mother. And I am the baby.:frown:
