did not help still no go. also i'm noticing the threads on the crankshaft on the flywheel side is starting to get damaged. this time when I screw it in and torque it. i'm only able to get about 60 ft. lbs. then I feel it start to strip. is my engine going to need a whole complete rebuild? I hope I don't have to.

I almost did not respond to this thread but it kept nagging at me. I looked up your torq specs and nothing in there is over 59 ft lbs and as with most small engines inch lbs is the norm. Check your info again to make sure you are not over-torquing your nuts and bolts.

I am just going to try to buy a new hs40 engine from ebay, and stick it on and when I then get enough money, I will just rebuild the whole entire engine. you think that would be better? were supposed to get about 11 to 17 inches of snow this weekend. let me know guys thanks.
