The red cart has a one piece bottom.
If you decide to make it larger you might want to make the box in two sections to strengthen the bottom.

I have just bought this one used for $50 and it is my favorite one because it's bigger. (17 cubic feet)
I have not painted it yet, but did get new tires.

You can see here what happens if left out in the weather with leaves in the bottom.

This cart is about $350 new.
