Pish mower not starting.

I have a craftsman m210. This is the first time I've used it this year. I took a break and cut the mower off then restarted it. I noticed it wasn't cutting then about 30 seconds later it died and made some clicking noises. When I try to restart it it feels fine but doesn't start up and has the same clicking noises.

Was the oil level correct?
Pull the spark plug, put a pencil or wooden dowel in the hole, have someone pull pull rope, see if piston is moving.
