We started up cutting grass last August. I was able immediately to pick up some customers. We have picked up a customer here and there every month since. Many times only one or two a month. Since the first of August calls have picked up. Last week we got four new customers and we have already got four more this week. Is there something synomous with people hunting somebody to cut their grass and late Summer? I honestly figured that people would make grass cutting arrangements early in the year and the pickings would be slim in the latter part of the Summer.

A lot of people or most people make grass cutting arrangements early in the year, it's just a shame they do it wrong company's. They do it with someone who is just starting out in the business or just trying to make his beer money and finds out that the business is a little harder and more than what they thought it was going to be and decide to take a hike and never inform there customers when they do.

I have some that are moving out of their house and so they don't have the time to mow or are in a new house before their old one sold so no one is there to mow the lawn...so they get me.

July and august are my busiest months. I think many lawn care businesses bail out when the 100 degree temps hit, same with the people who mow themselves.
