PF 21 AWD spring 506 67 19-01

Hi All
I have a PF 21 AWD. Whilst mowing the lawn yesterday i heard a loud bang and found a hefty looking spring on the floor.
i have purchased a new spring 506 67 19-01 but how the hell do i get it back on anyone had the same problem ?
any pointers would be great.

I hook one end into the fit, Wrap a cord around the other end and tie the other end of the cord to a stiff screw driver or handle and pull until it goes where it needs to .

Hi, thanks for your reply. did you have to take anything off to get a straight pull.

All depends on the machine The belt guards for sure , I use a sturdy stick or anything I can get a good grip on to stretch the spring,
