Mower deck periodic noise from deck

Just bought a cub cadet 1050 with the 3 blade 50 inch deck. When I engage the pto and go to full throttle, there is a loud noise every few seconds like the blades hitting. It doesn't make the noise at idle and at partial throttle it make the noise less frequently or not at all. I think from what I can tell, the noise is coming from the blades hitting on the end but I can't get them to hit when i turn the blades by hand. The prior owner just replace the middle blade spindle. It appears that the clearance between the middle blade and the left blade is greater than the blade on the right side. Are those spindle locations fixed or is there some adjustment I need to do to center the blades ?

First thing I would do is check that center blade that the previous owner installed to make sure it is "exactly" the same length as the outer blades.

Is it possible that the previous owner didn't know all there is to know about changing spindles. Are the bearings loose, or wrong bearings???

I wouldn't say possible but probable. He put in a brand new whole assembly so I think he got that part right. I'm still thinking he didn't get it bolted back in the right spot. Haven't had time to crawl under there and loosen it up to see if I can adjust it a little.

Any time I have replaced deck spindles they only bolt on one way. I don't ever recall any adjustments. Did he tighten them proper, dirt or junk between the housing and spindle or old washers???

Found the problem. The reason the spindle was replaced was he must have hit something because two of the ears on the spindle when the bolt holes are were broke off. The force of this impact also bent the deck around the mounting holes of middle and right spindle causing the blades to be out of position. I hammered the deck back into close to the right position and it fixed the problem.

Sounds like you found the reason that the previous owner sold that CC:0)
