Here are the details of my mower:
  • 2017 Dixie Chopper Blackhawk HP 2560 KOE purchased in 2018
  • Kohler EZT 740 S/N: 4702504833
Left Side Parker Transmission
  • Model: HTJ12L260FALKCA000
  • S/N: 170350016
Long story short when my Dixie blew the plastic idler pulley 6 months after I purchased, I was not aware of the impact to my transmission. Still under warranty, everything I was told, that was broke was repaired. Fast forward a few years and I blew the idler spring. My dealer, like so many said they had no idea when they could get to the repair. With the help of this forum, I replaced the idler spring. A sound I have complained about over the years to my dealer has gotten worst and I thought all related to the spring. When I was replacing the spring I noticed the fan on the left Parker was "broke" and the pulley was wobbly (for lack of better terms) on the Parker as well.

I have received very good support from Parker and their tech support. I received the updated parts and assembly list and was given the nearest distributor (after several weeks of searching). BUT.....and this is big.....although the distributor I contacted was very helpful; they told me Parker does not provide parts or transmissions for distribution! That was a quote after the distributor contacted Parker directly on availability and shipment.

My questions are:
  • Does anyone know of a vendor who rebuilds Parker HTJ's??
  • Does anyone know of a vendor who will supply parts for Parker HTJ's??
  • Does anyone know of a vendor who sells (at a discount hopefully) Parker HTJ's?
LOL as you can see I am desperate. I only have this zero turn and cut about 6-7 acres a week. Downtime would be critical, so weary of tearing it apart for it to sit.

I can honestly tell you this will be my very last Dixie Chopper. This is my second, unfortunately nothing but issues since purchased and I am done with the brand. I need to get through this summer's cuttings if at all possible.

Thanks for any assistance,
Kevin

Sort of confusing as to what exactly the situation is.

Thanks hlw49! By chance do you know of a source for parts of this Parker transmission? I was hoping to buy just the fan -Parker #420004.

Looks like the fan, Parker #420004 is trashed. I unfortunately cannot find a source and Parker does not sell retail. Although hlw49 has the new part number I would prefer if at all possible to find a rebuilt unit before buying new. Thanks

I remember replacing a fan on an Eagle which is a souped up Black Hawk. I will check next week and see what parts are avlailble through Dixie Chopper.

When I google Parker fan 420004 it takes me to an ebay ad sold out that lists the part same as 607509. Looking at that part it comes back online to 450-0024-00 which is a 7" HTE HTJ fan. One HTE-HTJ manual shows some units with both a 6" and a 7" fan. 420002 6" and 420004 7". Looking further Cub Cadet shows a 7" fan part number PH-420004 $66.91 at cubcadet.com . MTDparts.com also shows a PH-420004 7" fan for $66.91 in stock. Troybilt also has it listed for sale. theoempartsstore.com has it listed at $59.61. Have you googled the part number? PH-420004

Thank you !!! I have googled, but now I see that I was using the wrong part number. Thanks for the correct part number and your patience. It’s been a long week. I appreciate the help.
