I have an Onan 16 hp in an older Sears garden tractor. It has run like a champ for years. But now it runs well for 5 to 10 minutes and then it loses its fuel to the carb. I have put 2 carb repair kits into it. No difference. I have ran it with the gas tank lid off suspecting tank vent issues. No change. I put in an inline electric fuel pump. No change. Every time after it sputters to a stop there is very little gas in the carb bowl. I have checked the needle/seat and float. (Metal) Replaced needle/seat. No moisture inside the float.
Ideas? I’ve exhausted my brain for finding the issue.

Does this engine have a fuel pump? If so, have you checked it?
Next time it does it, pull the fuel line off at the closest joint to the tank.
Remover te tank cap & blow back through the line ( should be no harder than blowing through a straw.
Problem goes away for another 1/2 hour = time to remove & clean out the fuel tank.
