Back in the day, a lawn mower was often a more simple walk behind type, motorless, where you just walked behind and the blades cut the grass. I saw someone using one of these the other day. If you have a small yard, it occurred to me that it might be simpler and the way to go if you don't want to deal with more expensive mowers. I'm not sure what these are called, either, but do you know if they are actually still sold and do you see any benefit in them?

You got it Russ...
The Real mower is a 'REEL' mower.
They still make them today, but not nearly as well built as the old ones. They were a very good work out and I also remember pushing a lot of miles of grass with one of those... I think that is one of the reasons I enjou my enclosed cab ZTR mower so much..:biggrin:

Ah! Thanks! I knew there had to be a name for them. I very vaguely remember one from my childhood, but I remember them mostly from old TV shows, but that's why when I saw one the other day, it piqued my curiosity.
