Hey all, I'm a proud owner of a zthd52. My question pertains to changing the oil. I did my first oil change at about 10 hours. When I removed the oil drain plug the oil took about a half hour to drain. It never really gushed out. Is this normal?
Anytime you change oil, you should make sure that the engine has run for a minimum of 15 minutes to make sure that the oil gets hot. This will do two things, one the oil will flow much faster to cut the time it takes to drain the crankcase. Second, as the oil flows through the engine or it is splashed around the detergents in to oil cause the dirt particles to become suspended in the oil and will be removed with the oil.
The mower was hot and the dipstick was removed. I'm just a little confused

Manufactures don't make changing oil a priority. It just sound like a small drain hole. I don't know what have but just maybe it can be modified to a larger size?
