Hello everyone. I know I never finished my other thread, but I decided to turn my lawnmower into an all terrain vehicle. I need some help though. What do I need to do with the pulleys? What do I need to do with the engine? Also, I'd Like to put the same size tires all around on the mower. How would I go about making the frame level with the same size wheels and tires all around? Thank you for any help. I can also post pics again if needed.

For the pulleys you want a 4 inch on the engine and a 3 inch on the rear end.

Don't do anything to the engine bit install a gas pedal. I use a bike brake lever and cable. Hook it to the governor so you can go wide open.

Speed will get you close to 40.
This is the best set up I have found for off road and deep mud.

The work involved to have it sit level with same size tires drone and back is not worth it.

You can cut the head off a bolt and weld it on the front axle to make it longer so you can put the back wheels on the front and just go a little bigger on the back.

One way to have all the same size is to make new brackets for the rear end to lift the frame up higher But then the pulleys will not line up so yo have to add a double pulley. ( one pulley on top of the other ) and run two belts and a extra idler pulley.

I just run ATV tires.

So your saying the 4 and 3 inch setup will give me 40? also, the pulley on the transaxle is stuck. What is the easiest way to get that thing off? And where is the best place to buy these pullies?

Take the transaxle out of the mower hang it from the pulley between two 2x4s put a punch or a 3/8 extension And hit it with a hammer.

I get my pulleys at tractor supply or napa.

How will this pulley setup you recommend make it go faster? the sizes you recommend are pretty close to the stock ones.

You must be using a hydro transaxle.

Sell it and get one with gears.
The hydro won't last.

Drop your rear pulley down to a inch you will go fast but not good for trail riding or mud playing and won't last but a few hours.

Where would I look for a manual transaxle? And will it be expensive?
