So has anyone installed a tach on their riding mower? Im just curious to know what is a normal engine speed with the tractor is loaded (blades cutting grass, go pedal to the floor)?

When mine is warmed up. No load speed at a stand still is 3800-3900rpm. Go pedal to the floor with PTO off 3500-3600rpm. Loaded Im at around 2350rpm. I feel like that is a big drop with the PTO is engaged.

If that is the case , your governor is not regulating the speed properly
Fully loaeded the engine should stay at the no-load speed to withing 200 rpm

Would adjusting the governor screw to right or allowing it to rev higher and setting the throttle stopper to 3600rpm fix that? I guess I haven't been able to find that sweet spot it should be set at.
