Noob from Louisiana

Hi! I'm Chris from State Capitol Raceway, LA. I'm a bit of a forum junkie, and am a member for just about every interest I have, mainly my truck. I'm a first time homeowner (since 1.25 years ago) and bought my first ZTR- an '07 DC LT2500 a few months ago with supposedly 141 hrs on it. It's a 50" with a 25HP Generac. I don't believe the hour meter is original, but the mower has no leaks, sounds/runs strong, looks fairly clean, cuts great, and was (what I believed to be) a decent deal with the price. What prompted me to finally join a mower forum is the electrical gremlins that have showed up over the past month or so. I believe this poor beast was kept outside. I'll start a thread in the DC forum. I hope to gain some knowledge on this thing and maybe even share some of mine in return.

Welcome.... and nice unit you have. Gremlins, huh? You said it may have been kept outside? I would start with bad or loose grounds. Then battery terminals and cables, then connectors for corrosion, chaffed wires and then interlock switches. Start simple. Although you didn't tell us what your issues are this would be my starting points.
As you know with our Louisiana humidity all the above are possible. Thanks for the pictures.

I started a detailed thread in the DC forum. I can's say for sure this mower was stored outside. But, the mild corrosion on the terminals and faded wire insulation draws my attention. Overall the mower is very clean and the corrosion/bad connections are isolated to just the terminals. By corrosion, I don't mean the metal is ate through. Really, it's just a white chalky buildup on the copper/aluminum terminals. Regardless, it's enough to affect the connections.
