Are there any walk-behind self-propelled mowers which allow for a cutting height up to 5"? 4.5" might do, but I'd like more range than most seem to offer. My St. Augustine sod likes to be higher than most mowers allow, particularly shady areas. Any mower recommendations here? I've seen a commercial Toro w a 5" cutting height, but really don't want to spend that much. Perhaps there are modifications which would make a Honda cut that high, but don't know what that might entail. Many thanks.

Toro Timemaster has a 4.25" cut. If you step up to the Turfmaster you get a 5" height of cut. Those are the only two that I am aware of and one is "commercial."

Look at the wheels
On some mowers you can fit bigger wheels which will increases the max cut height.
IMHO all push mowers cut too low .
If grass needs to be cut lower than 2" then you should be using a reel type of mower.
