Glad it was a easy fix.

That dang key always falls out. I have done it more then once.

The way the pulley went down made me think it had gone on the key, must have just been a little rust on the shaft that made it go down slowly, but after spinning without the key the rust was gone and the pulley came off very easy! I've had a lot of leaves fall and needed to get them picked up, it seemed to blow them into the bagger better, like possibly the blades are spinning better due to less resistance from the drive belt, I know they are separate belts but it sure ran better with a new pulley.

CRAFTSMAN Engine Parts | Model 917252500 | SearsPartsDirect just information: illustrated parts list for your tractor

Thanks, I have that page bookmarked and have used it often for repairing my tractor, luckily RepairClinic.com is about a 10 min. drive for me and they usually have most parts in stock. I've had to replace the blades, shift rod, belts and now the pulley. The diagrams make it much easier to see exactly where the parts fit.
