Well I mowed for the first time yesterday with my Husqvarna, all I can say is awesome. That is one mowing machine I tell you. Thicker grass acted like it wasn't even there and it is very comfortable to ride and smooth ain't the word.
So I am very pleased to say the least. I told my wife that I was very, Happy, Happy, Happy. I'll have to put Duck Commander on the side of it. Probably took close to 30 mins off of my time, still took a little over 2 hrs though. The kohler ran flawless and the power from the 24hp was surprising. I'm having to get use to the bigger deck as well in tight turns which I knew I would, but all in all I'll give it a

Nice tractor. I'm thinking of getting one of these later in the year to replace my Simplicity Regent. Have an excellent Husqvarna dealer close that has great service. Hope you continue to keep us posted on your new ride.

Jimmyjo I believe you would be pleased with the YTH24K48, It is very fast also. Can't really mow as fast as it will go but I guess if you have a smooth yard you could. But again it's the smoothest mower and the most power I've ever had. 24hp is nothing to sneeze about.
Before I chose this mower I was thinking about the Husqvarna with the 54" deck, I'm glad I didn't do that because it would have been too much deck for my use. Wouldn't have been able to trim around anything.

Tnhusky, what size lawn and what kind of terrain do you have? I'm looking into the exact mower you bought..I have about an acre of lawn, mainly flat, though a short, steep hill separating the flat areas. I'm also hoping to pull a cart with cut firewood from time to time..have you used it to pull anything yet?

Sorry for all of the questions! New homeowner so I'm new to mower shopping too!

Thanks

Well it took me about 2 hrs and 20min to Mow, not including trimming so I have a least 1 acre and I also have a steep incline to deal with. I had no problem and as far a pulling a trailer, you shouldn't have any trouble at all.

Great thank you, thats awesome

Are you using the mulching kit or anything? I think until I can afford a bagging system I would want to get the mulching kit to avoid having any clippings all over the lawn

No mulching kit, I have a sweeper if need be but I chopped up some clippings into a very fine grass in just a pass or two.

Congratulations:

I just purchased a new-to-me 2011 GTH27V52LS and I am well pleased also. I had reservations about the 52" deck as my old mower had a 42", but the new mower turns sharper than my old Craftsman and I have found that trimming is actually easier as there is more deck hanging out beyond the tires so it's easier to up close and personal to the trees and other things I need to mow around.
Like you I was impressed with the power and speed, my mower like yours will mow at a little better than 7mph if conditions permit.

A friend of mine bought a 24 HP Husqavarna and was pleased with it. Actually with the bigger engine he used less gas on the mowing as compared to his other mower. I believe it was either an 18 or 20 HP B&S Murray but not the OHV type. I've mowed with both of them and found the Husqavarna a lot better mower. Seemed to spin the rpm's faster and didn't bog down in high grass. Quite an easy mower to operate. I liked it! I think he bought it at Northern Hardware on a close out sale..but nowdays they don't sell the riding mowers in the store, you have to order one.
