Nikki Carburettor

Again its not about the fixing or cost. Its about reinventing something that was just fine, especially when the reinvention adds nothing but complexity ie no benefit!

I rebuilt the darn Nikki and the engine runs great - if it ever gives me a problem, I will swop it out for Walbro 😈
I keep couple of them NLA Walbro's carb around as spare tires so as to check engines that appear to have Carb issues. Once they confirm it's ACTUALLY the carb I can then be more careful with repairing the Nikki.

The old Original with adjustable jets Walbro's carb's for the single cylinder Briggs inteks are getting hard to find and USUALLY expensive if a clean one is seen for sale.

You have to keep a heads up if you try to use the Briggs part number for the Walbro carb when searching on-line you will usually get directed to the non-Walbro replacement carbs with non adjustable jets and are Nikki or Ruxing China clones, because these are the replacements.

The Chinese Walbro's are easy to find. I've had good luck on about four or five of them. They are so cheap I don't even waste time if I see the word Nikki on the side of the carb. Pop on a fresh clone and she is good to go.
