New z235 cuts better in reverse

Ha. I have gone from slow to wide open. It doesn't cut good on any setting

You said you checked your belts? I had one of those BOP Quick 32s. It did the very same thing your mower does. It took me a while to notice that one of the deck belts was routed wrong. When I fixed that it cut fine.
