Well I am an Australian resident new to forum after recently purchasing a Kubota T1760 mower for a small 6 acre property purchase. I have also purchased an old Kubota L2000 Gray Market Tractor too.
When I purchased the mower it had a slow leak on one of the front tyres. What a job to remove the wheel! It was stuck fast with the inner bearing rusted on to the axle. Took me a day to finally get it off with lots or WD40 and a significant amount of pounding with a brass dolly and 5lb hammer. Poor old left hand was belted a few times in the process due to my glasses slipping down my nose. As a result of the problems I encountered and me being so particular I decided to carry out maintenance on the other front wheel. Same deal with that wheel. Anyway, be warned if you own a Kubota T1760 mower or mower with similar wheel set up, split pin and washer with cir-clipped inner and outer wheels bearings.
Hello Paul, WELCOME to these Forums...
Rust is always troublesome, You may have got the wheel bearings out a bit easier using anything other than WD40, if you have a real penetrating oil like PB Blaster, Kroil or even Liquid Wrench...
Kubota should keep going for decades... even your grey market... :smile:KennyV
I agree with Kenny, that you cant beat a Product called Kroil, comes in a spray can and in liquid, and it is the best lubricant, penetrant out there. I get it via mail order, and if you want their site Goggle Kroil.
Let me know if it comes up.
I also have an older 90's Kubota 1770 with a Kohler and 48 inch deck. Maintain it myself since new. Now, after your experience, I will examine the wheel bearing design more closely.
What size is your deck and what Engine?
