I have a property in the foothills around Kurrajong, NSW. The land around 9 acres and is level with some gently sloping areas.
I have been mowing a smallish area (about an acre) around the house with an old Honda Harmony tractor style ride on and it's time to upgrade.
I have looked at replacements and almost have decided on a Toro Titan ZX4800 zero steer. This machine offers a nice combination of robust construction, healthy kawasaki powerplant and cutting deck size which will hopefully allow me to negotiate the tighter spots around the place while being large enough in to tackle the larger paddocks when required. I may not need to invest in a tractor/slasher combo if I proceed to purchase this machine.
The machine will only be used for a couple of hours fortnightly with longer stretches when the remaining 7 acres are trimmed.
One helpful retailer suggested the Titan was overkill for the job and would not suit sloping land, or land which had the odd horse hoof divot.
Any suggestions ?

For 7 acres... unless it is kept clipped short, you would be better off with some type tractor slasher,( rotary cutter) .. if you mow it regularly you will do fine with the ZTR mower... :smile:KennyV
