tell me about this funny carb and what I can replace it with....

That is a walbro brand carb, and its better than any of the plastic f series carbs you could use. If you would use a plastic, you wont be able to use throttle cable, just the high or low setting on the carb.

It's very possible, or nothing is impossible.
I was just about to drill a hole in the wind vain, install a bracket & a cable to make mine fully manual. Then I got 2 more Boys to fix so I sat it on the back burner for now. Wouldn't take much at all.

I think my pro hack job of removing the plastic has or is about to teach me about something I have never seen on a carb before.... is that white plastic thing really some sort of gov? I have seen them inside small engines but never on the carb. I think without the plastic the air flow is not being created like I need so I will have to find a nice carb for this little monster of mine. my next question will be is there any f series that have a carb without one(model or part # is all I need). and If it is a gov I don't want it anyway so if I don't find a cheap carb how do I just eliminate it making my toy more fun to me. My road side find turned into a project instead of scrap.

pm me if you need this thing for parts I know the blade is still there and I have seen some of the parts list is no longer available pm before I hack your needed part

Seriously, start it up and move the plastic governor with you fingers. You will see how simple it would be to fashion a bracket and hook a cable to it. Then you could have a hand throttle on the handlebar!
I am definitely going to do this to mine, I just want to see more of your plastic cutting mastery first. :p hehehe jk..
Don't give up on the carb/goversystem just yet, it has worked for 4 & 5 decades on many thousands of happy owners machines..

That's an F-series engine and I think most, if not all. carbs from other F-series engines would bolt on -- but I'm not sure about the governor hookup.

Maybe the carb doesn't need to be replaced. What's the symptom?

Model number?
HE needs to install a new shroud before the lawn mower will work. You need air to move the vane.
