Hello, all, from sunny and hot Jonesboro, Arkansas.
I am a 65-year-old retired salesman living in Jonesboro, northeast Arkansas, about 80 miles north and west of Memphis, Tn., and 150 miles northeast of Little Rock. I enjoy tinkering with engines, and have done so since I was about 15-years-old. I currently own a Murray riding lawn mower that I have rehabilitated from non-running junk status to a pretty darned good, reliable mower. I initially came to this forum looking for the valve lash specs for my Briggs model 278707 type 1272-E1 engine, but haven't taken the time to search much. I currently have both intake and exhaust set on 4 one-thousandths, but the performance is a little lacking. If anyone has the actual factory specs on this engine, I would appreciate a heads up.
Looking forward to getting acquainted, learning a few new tips, and maybe even imparting some of my knowledge to other members.
