While cutting with my new tractor I started to smell something burning so I stopped it and then could not start it. It had only 8.5 hours on it and when the dealer came to pick it up he said my clutch/PTO had fallen off. Come to find out that one of Husqvarna's factories had a machine that was not torquing the bolt on tight enough and I got one of the 1000 machines that it happened to. The crankshaft and clutch were replaced and I have been able to cut the grass several times. I have now started to notice some white smoke after about 1 hour on the tractor. It also feels like it has no speed and it slows down quite a bit on an incline. Could there have been additional damage done when the clutch fell off? I owned a John Deere L110 for 11 years before this and did tons of research before I bought this tractor. While it had great reviews I don't want to be stuck with a lemon because of this damage with so few hours on the tractor.

I guess it must just be the luck of the draw. One person gets a mower and never has a thing go wrong and then the next person gets the lemon. Must be the mower that was built at the end of the day just before a holiday weekend.

The clutch bolt on my zero turn also fell off this year. It was the third year of use but have had no other problems and no damage was done when it happened. I just check the bolt often to be sure it is tight. Just be sure to do the maintenance and remember most of these mowers are not intended.for.rough use. Go easy on uneven and rough.ground. I've read where the belt spindles break too so don't hit anything.

I'd be sure your Dealer is kept aware of anything out of the norm.. Especially since you (I'm guessing) are still under warranty..
Have them document everything now, just in case..
