New Honda mower won't start

Hi everyone,
I purchased a Honda mower new about 2 months ago. I've mowed my yard 4 times with it with no problems, but on the 5th time it simply died on me. Gas level was good, and oil was good as well. I let it sit for a couple of hrs and when I went to re-start it the string was very difficult to pull and I can hear a grinding sound in the engine as it spins when the string is pulled (sounds like metal on metal) and it still will not start. I lifted the mower slightly to see if the blade would spin and it's spinning fine w/o any resistance that I can feel. I know this is kind of a vaugue description of my issue but if anyone has any ideas on what the problem may be or how I can fix it I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

With only two months of use I would not tried to repair. This is under warranty and with metal to metal grinding, I would take it back to the your dealer or if you bought it at a big box store to a Honda service center. Any repairs you try to make could void your warranty. That's why I am not going to suggest anything else.

Thanks for the reply Rivets. It is under warranty, I was hoping it might've been something simple that I would be able to handle myself...a quick fix:smile: Thanks again.

I would take it in for warranty. As new as it is they may give you a new one right on the spot and not make you wait for repairs to be done. You know to save there name.
