Hey guys im new to the forum and to hustler. I did some research and looked at many mowers this year but for me the hustler fastrak super duty ( 60 in deck) with the Honda motor really filled the bill.

I have a question though, I have about 5 hours on the mower, its been awesome I actually am enjoying cutting the lawn ( go figure ).

Today when cutting in an open area I pushed both handles all the way forward and I noticed it drifted to the left, it always went that direction.

So my question is since its not driving straight is there an easy adjustment to resolve this?? If I don't have to take it back to the dealer Id rather not, I would have to borrow a trailer.

To let you know if I pick a point to drive to and have the room to push the handles all the way forward and have it run at full speed it will drift 20 ft to the left by the time I make it to the item Im trying to drive to, so lets say in 80 ft I'm missing my target by 20 ft. If I don't push the handles all the way I don't have this issue.

In order to check a ZTR for left or right drift, it must be tested on an absolutely flat and level hard surface.
A new machine will settle in as time gets put on it and sometimes settings/adjustments will change. The operators manual that you got with this machine has lever adjustment procedures in it.
I don't know of anyones ZTR that will track straight with the levers full forward and matched to each other.

WELCOME to these Forums...

Hustler is a great Kansas manufacturer & one of the supporting advertisers ...
The fastrak like many ZTR's use two separate hydraulic systems. In your case HyroGear ZT-3100 transaxles... one for each drive wheel. It is very difficult if not impossible to make 2 of anything identical. Therefore there will always be a bit of difference between two separate systems. The important settings that need to match up is the neutral (start) position...
I would not give it a second thought, BTW you have 4 years or 400 hours to get it back to your dealer for any issues... so at only 5 hrs it has not even began to break in the drive pumps, motors, hydro control valves or the rest of those 2 hydraulic systems... Run it to 50 hrs, you may see things start to even out or the slight difference may even trade sides, they are always going to be 'close' but I doubt they will remain identical for any length of time...
Happy mowing with your new Z.... :smile:KennyV

BTW ... if getting Near the exact speed out of your drives is really important to you...
You can accomplish "almost" what you want by: adding 1 psi pressure to the 'slow' tire inflation, OR subtracting 1 psi inflation of the 'fast' tire ... keep doing this and checking the result. But even this is apt to change after you find a ballanced inflation combination... Happy mowing. :smile:KennyV

Ok guys I thought I may be jumping the gun on this issue but its my first zero turn so I wasn't sure.

Sounds to me that giving it some time and then if adjustment are needed I will worry about it then, as I said its only at full speed all other speeds are equal.

I guess once i hit that 50 hr mark if I have issues I will be back to see what you guys think.

Thanks for the comments it was a big help.

Clint.

Not only do I have a fastrak superduty I have this sweet 1987 jd 850, 4x4.

I just purchased a Fastrak super duty 48 inch deck as well and love it so far. I have the same problem with 3 hours on my mower. However, after the post I feel better. Thanks!

Enjoy your new machine, your engine will 'break-in' in 5 to 10 hrs, but the hydraulic system May take much longer to come closer to equalizing... happy mowing, :smile:KennyV

fastrak,
That sure is a fine looking JD tractor!! In the picture of your FasTrak Super Duty that seat looks exactly like the one on my Gravely, but yours doesn't appear to have the suspension knob/dial on the front. I made an offer on a FasTrak Super Duty last September, but I could have sworn it had a full suspension seat on it. Does yours just have the isolators under the seat, rather than the full suspension seat???

Thanks for the comment about the jd, its been my baby for a while now!!

The seat on my hustler does not have a full suspension seat to my knowledge, I think what your call isolators would be exactly what my 2013 has.
