New engine

So i have a john deere z665 with 60 inch deck. Put new motor in in march. Then when i got the chance to mow lawn everything worked great mowed a bit but after i stoppedal and wanted to mow again the deck would not turn on. So i got a new battery put in as it was in need of one. Deck still wont turn on and after trying to troubleshoot it for awhile then i lost all power and now the lawn moer doesnt do anything

because you are there with the mower & I am here with the words you posted on my computer I would trouble you for some more information.
Starting with the make & model of the new engine.
Then a full and detailed description.
Does the engine actually start & run
Does the engine stop running when you turn the blades on
What to you hear when you turn the blades on.
If you sit in the seat and turn the blades on without the engine running do you hear a thump ( from the clutch )

Do the other electrics work ?
