Remove the belt. Spin everything with your hand that the belt drove. If you hear a faint or obvious growling sound, replacement time.

Listen to what @slomo said. Whether it has 18 hours or 180 hours, there could be a bad pulley or bad spindle. Don’t rely on what someone is telling you. You need to put your hands and eyes on the pulleys and spindles.

One can wreck a mower in 2 seconds. Hour meters are a waste of money YOU paid for. Doesn't help one bit in getting the grass cut. Change the oil and clean the cooling fins yearly. Doesn't get any easier.

We get people on here that don't walk the yard like old timers did and wonder why their new $19,000 0-turn doesn't cut grass. They just hit a pipe or log chain in the yard. See, doesn't take long to trash a mower.

When Cub brought out there steering wheel ZTR I replaced the spindle bearings on 2 that were less than a month old
Both took them to the dealer and both were quoted $ 120 for the repair
The reason is a poor deck design coupled with an even worse deck wash out system and no proper instructions in ow to use it
SO the water they washed the deck with got into the bearings and trashed them in 2 to 3 mows

I even had idler pulley bearings that had only one rough spot to cause belts to snap.

you'll need a helping hand here, while the deck is running, "carefully" take a long screwdriver and touch toward the center each rotating pulley and idlers. If the noise you're hearing changes, then you've probably found your culprit. But, as I've already stated - be carefully when doing this . . . .

I don't actually have a bobcat zt2000 but my brother does have one (Im not sure the model is 2000). His machine also had this problem. It's possible that the racket is coming from the deck's design, or maybe there's an issue with the deck wash system that's letting water seep into the bearings, causing them to go wonky. You might wanna take a peek at those bearings on your deck

We have fought the belts like that on several mowers. Finally got an after market raw edge belt and it solved the problem. Dealer is right the wrap belts can cause a noisey deck. Like he stated ever where there is a joint in the wrap there is a bump in the belt. I have seen belts with four to five joints in the belt. That coupled with the sorry new PEER spindles that a lot of mower have on them. Too much end play and they can get really noisey. Took the spindles to a machine shop were he machine the spacer down to take out the end play. That coupled with a new raw edge belt, finally got the deck quite enough to satisfy the customer.

Not any out there. We all hear this a lot. No good mower techs anymore. Need to put mower repair on cell phones, facetrash or Nintendos so people will learn about them.

The latest generation of techs are basically too darn lazy to learn and OEMs are also part of problem as their tech support are people with no experience or knowledge of what they telling you as they are just looking at a computer screen. It actually getting to be a joke to even call tech support.

It was like trying to get a PN for the relay that I had in hand off a Cub Cadet earlier this year. Tech support said there was no relay present on that mower. I told him that was BS and I got smart and looked up the manufacturer number on the relay. Strange after doing that the cross references came the Cub Cadet PN. But was too late for CC as I found a much lower cost for the relay.
