Can anyone tell me what this spring and hand nut are called. Trying to locate the spring and screw in the picture but dont know what to search for. Tried "governor adjustment screw" but nothing I'm seeing. Might someone be able to point me in the right direction? Maybe a link?
Unfortunately I dont see any stickers to indicate its year or model. "J607" It was on an exmark power rake model ra-5000. Best I could find as shown in pic looks like same motor on 1976 5hp briggs.
It called a thumb or governor screw [depends on where in the service manual you find it] and the rod is the governor adjustment rod but we do need model and type number that is stamp into the metal of the engine shroud. Look carefully on this older unit the shroud may have been repainted. These number usually on the flat area on the head side the shroud. I have had to sand or scrape paint off a few time over the years to reveal the number.
Format the model as 130202-2142-01 and your unit is a 1986. Google this number for IPL.
Extract the Power Portal provided IPL. Note two thread pitches are possible 5-44 and 6-32.
