I have a Briggs and Stranton 29447-0445-01 motor on a cub 1440. I need a starter. I've looked all over the internet and can't find it. Anyone have a clue what the part number might be. Thank you.

Thank you. However, that isn't the correct one either. Now you get my dilemma. I have tried and cannot for the life of me find this starter. I do appreciate your effort!

Why do you say that is not the correct one? According to the model number you posted it should be correct. Are you sure no one has changed the shroud on the engine where you got the model number? Please post the code number for your engine, as there were three different starters used on that model, depending on code number, but they all supersede to the number I posted. Also post a couple of pictures of the starter you are trying to replace.

Just did a double check and I think you may be missing a digit in the model number you posted. Please double check if I’m wrong.

Star, I know I’m off, that’s why I asked for more info. I’m not an expert like you who likes to make sure he stabs everyone in the back who makes a mistake. No wonder you left for awhile because people were picking on you. Too bad your personality is no where close to your technical knowledge. I guess with your expertise you don’t have to worry about how your personality affects how people think of you. Lucky we have members who proof read all threads for mistakes and then try to make others look stupid. Going to look for a Kevlar vest so your knife can’t go in to far when I make another mistake, which will happen because I’m not as smart as you.

I am not trying to stab anyone in the back, just wanting they post halfway correct info. In this case a walk behind starter just not going fit a riding mower engine.

And BTW I use a straw broom to smack those out there. You and everyone needs to learn to do their research before posting so you or them don't make such off the wall posts. And yes I do make mistake and get criticized for doing so. I have no problem being corrected as long as I learn from my mistakes as everyone else should be able to do.

Rivets go back to bed and get up on the other side. I just had a customer this to tell me he had a RTV1100 Kubota that needed an oil change so I brought the filters per his info. When the unit arrived it was a RTVX1100 which uses completely different filters. Luckily I had brought the filters from a local dealer and was able to exchange them.

Plus I did assume something in another post about a 28 series being an OHV but when the OP post the type number it make it a L-head instead. I admitted the mistake and gave the corrected info. And you don't see me bitching about being corrected. Mistakes do happen when either incorrect or incomplete info is given to work with.

I got up on the right side of the bed, but I think you better research how to correct those who are not as smart as you, without looking like Mr. Know-it-all. Maybe that’s why you didn’t get your stimulus checks yet. Now you can go to the back of the long line of people who hate me, because I call a spade a spade. Good day.
