Need Ignition Coil B/S 793352

Hi and Hello:

I need an ignition coil for MTD 4 HP 22 inch cut push mower. B/S Model:10A902 Type: 2189 B3 Code: 01102654. An in-line spark tester shows very faint spark. Also, mower was purchased in 2002 and has slight "backfire" in exhaust, hardly can hear it but just started. I am suspicious of ignition but probably carburetor. Carb has new gaskets and totally cleaned.

I could purchase Chinese aftermarket type but web says compatibility issues for direct fit.

Anybody have a used one?

You need to use an adjustable gap spark test and get rid of the inline "Christmas" flashing light type spark tester.

You can get a coil from Parts Tree or Jacks small engine.
 
I looked it up and directly from Briggs it is only $43.59. These days that is a McDonalds meal.
