try this stuff

1.see if it is firering
2.check condition of plugs
3.is it getting gas
4.how much compressing does it have
start there and see where that gets you

boreing engines cost more then it is worth it mostley trues the cylinder walls but you can get better pistons for the stock stuff. you really want power put bigger valves in it and put a bigger carb on there to and dont forget to put a wicked cam in. when you do all of this work it will cost you some good money i will say to do all of that it will cost about 1.000 dollare unless you put a bigger carb and just a cam then it would cost you about 300 or so just some info to think about

i use to run go karts when i was younger we ran 5 horse B&S mine was bored so far over i had to run a girdle on it to sandwich the top of the head to the bottom of the block to keep the cylinder from breaking away from the block i had a 4 horse head milled flat and fly cut for the valves to clear the exhaust valve was stock the intake valve was cut to the size of a exhaust valve the block was decked i had a steel crank with a wisco 2 ring piston and rod with a modified oil dipper i had a 3 horse flywheel to get higher and faster RPMs out of it i ran it with a outboard boat carb with a fuel pump it ran on methanol alcohol with some oil mixed in to keep the upper cylinder lubed since that stuff is so dry it also had a home made cam i made myself so i cant tell you what the lift was but it was big i had to adapt the coil down since the flywheel was smaller i also ran a 3 stage header as well it was all ported polished and balanced i removed the pull start from the blower housing for 2 reasons one less drag and 2 you couldn't pull start it anyway the compression on this this was way to much it would pull your arm out of socket so i had to get a electric starter kinda like they use on the indy cars to start it every small engine shop i told all this to said this thing will never run but it did it ran strong and won alot of races when i totaled all this up doing alot of the work myself i had 1500.00 in a B&S engine but man it was fun needless to say there wasn't a class for this engine so i had to run it in open class good luck
