It was running great 3 days ago and died when it got bogged down with too many clippings (son was mowing). Now it won't turn over (this used to start on the first pull for the past 3 years).

I'm not mechanically savy, so trying to describe it would be futile. Here's a link to a video of the issue- it's not "turning over"?

*I have replaced the spark plug, there is gas, and the flywheel key is in good shape.

Any help is appreciated.

Spend $ 10.00 on an inline spark tester, plug it in and check for a spark.
Buy a can of starter fluid and give the engine a short shot of starter fluid down the carb.

If it fires, runs a few seconds the stops, repeat the proceedure but keep on giving the engine very short shots of starter fluid.
If you can keep the engine running of around 2 minutes this way they you have a fuel delivery system.

If it has spark but you get no response from the starter fluid, take the rocker cover off and check the valve lasg.
It sounds a little rattley but hard totell from the short clip.

Spark plug is good. Tried the starter fluid, but still didn't fire up. I'm a bit lost on your last suggestion - I google the rocker cover, so I get that, but what is a valve lasg, and what am I looking for?

Thanks.

Valve lash. We do not always use spell check on here. You will be able to deciffer most of it by looking at the keyboard for letters near the misspelled word.

You said:"Spark plug is good."

How do you know the spark plug is good (firing under compression?)

Search you tube for valve lash / valve adjustment .
You might even pop your mower name or the briggs engine name in the search.
You will get around 1,000,000 hits as the second they added video to smart phones every knuckle head posted a valve lash video
I will leave it to you to work out who are shaved apes seeking the 15 seconds of fame who are the ego maniacs with shoe sizes greater than their IQ's and who actually know what they are talking about.
