ordered new handle for my HRX. The studs had broken off on bottom end. I tried to swap the controls over without disassembling but the control piece fell apart on me. Now I have to figure out how it all goes back together and will need schematics to figure it out - or detailed pictures like I should have taken in the first place. But even that may not be enough to show the spacers and all.
I just got it running perfect with all your help here - new carb and all carb gaskets. Now I'm stuck with the handle repair.

Need help figuring out how to install silver spring inside speed handle. I have it in place in picture but it's not doing anything. I can't figure out what the spring ends should be hitting.

Here's a pic of another HRX that should help; the spring appears to be reversed in your image. This photo was made with both drive and blade levers held all the way forward for clarity:

All buttoned up and running like new! I could not have done this without Robert and Mark. Here are a few pics:

For anyone else trying this. Make sure you connect this big spring before putting the speed handle on the stud. I tried to connect the spring after and stabbed myself in hand with needle nose pliers. Then I realize you need to disconnect the handle and cable in order to put spring on and then slide the handle over stud. Once you figure it out it's relatively easy.
