I have searched everywhere for this particular spring that slides over the linkage. I have a Husqvarna YTA24v48 (96045005200) with a Briggs & Stratton engine (44N877 0003G1). Can you help identify the part number for me?

Thank you for the reply. I was able to find the Choke spring (592585). Any idea what the other spring is? It is a link rod that the spring slides over. It appears to be a spring that possibly helps reduce vibration or 'chatter' on the link rod.Xnip2022-07-12_22-17-11.jpg

You are 100 % correct
Some engines have a small hole for it & some you just stuff in the same hole as the link rod after first puncturing all the fingers & thumb on your good hand
Thank heavens it is not sharp .

It's 2022 now. Time to start TURNING YOUR CELL PHONE. Creates a larger picture. Or get and use a DSLR camera for a quality shot.

Your pic looks like an under water salvage wreck.

Is this a place to get help with lawn mower problems or a place to get advice on how to take quality pictures? This pic was taken with my i-phone before I fully took the parts off the engine. I had to zoom in on the picture i took because of complaints that the pic I sent was a thumbnail size. Interesting that when I open the 'thumbnail' pic and zoom in it is very clear and shows the linkage with the spring clearly. I was asked to make the picture bigger and all I had was the original so I zoomed in which obviously distorts the quality some. This site has limitations on attachment size - I get it - but a 1.2MB file is too big? Providing the ability to attach a common size picture jpg or png file would help this site. FYI - you can zoom in on the picture if it's too small even if you have an antiquated computer and monitor

*** From what I can see of the pic I posted - it is clear and clearly shows the rod with a spring over it - that is factory installed.. I didn't put the spring there.

What - its 2022 already?? And "TURNING YOUR CELL PHONE" has become a standard procedure for taking pictures?? WOW. thank you for that! From what I'm told, other things you can do in 2022 is zoom in on a picture using your fingers or your mouse for a closer look (they still call it a mouse don't they?) . Crazy idea huh? From what I hear about 2022 i-phone camera's take high quality photo's using 12 megapixel cameras. If I thought I would have been using my pictures to share on a site and not just for my own personal use I would have taken the picture differently but still would not have used a DSLR since I don't have one.

Thanks bertsmobile 1. You have been very helpful, That was a factory installed link with the spring over it. I think you are saying that you agree that the spring goes there. Any clue how I find it?

Well here is the problem
B & S did not fit one to the 44N877 0003-G1 engine or at least the IPL does not list one
AFAIK B & S only fit that spring to single cylinder engines
Kohler on the other hand do fit one to the Command series & it is part # 24 089 54-s
The equivalent B & S spring is # 260 584 well that is the only one I keep in stock & it goes on everything other than Honda stationary engines as they have a much longer one
In practice it does little other than to stop the throttle fluttering a tiny amount but to be truthful I think that is more in the heads of the designers than in reality
About 1/2 the mowers that I service it is either missing or broken & I am yet to see any difference spring on to spring off

Thank you so much!! I will go with the 1/2 of the mowers missing one and not worry about it :)
