Need help finding Stack pulley for my "frankenstein" husqvarna/ craftsman mower
I have a Husqvarna YTH 21K46, however, the mower had a briggs and stratton motor from a craftsman installed. i don't know the model of the mower it came from, all i know is the engine model numbers. Briggs and Stratton model 446777 type 0244E1 code 040419YG. normally, this wouldn't be an issue for me. as there are hundreds of stack pulleys with 1" shaft. My motor on the other hand has a 1 1/8" shaft. I've searched for 3 weeks and messaged many sellers for dimensions, and ID of there stack pulleys to no avail.
anyone, please help me in the right direction. i need a stack pulley, for a 1 1/8" shaft with a keyway...
Re: Need help finding Stack pulley for my "frankenstein" husqvarna/ craftsman mower
You have a commercial grade engine.
So you will need to look at commercial models for a stack pulley
You will also be paying commercial price.
I have a round about way of doing this research.
Go to the Briggs web page & download the parts book.
Now pick a couple of parts, say the crank.
Then go to Jacks Small Engines web site and drop the briggs number into their parts search.
Hit the "more Details" section and the new window will have a portal labled "other models or where used "
This will have the model numbers that used that crank.
In a new tab / window search some of those model numbers for a stack pulley.
From the Stens web site you can look up the clutch pulleys for their equivalent and their "more info" page will bring up the manufactureres part numbers where that clutch pulley was used and the diameter of the pulley.
You then have another 1/2 dozen parts numbers that you can go back to Jacks and search for other mower model numbers.
It is a PIA but no maker publishes their pulley sizes so you have to cross reference to aftermarket parts suppliers to find out the pulley size.
You must match engine pulley diameter to hydro pulley diameter fairly closely because hydros are designed to work within a very small range or RPM's.
