My Briggs needs the original Briggs with the primer hole in the right place for my Cub Cadet SC621. None of the aftermarket carbs I have tried will work. Since this carb is nla perhaps someone has a rebuilt or used one.

What is the Briggs model number of engine? How many aftermarket carburetors have you tried? When you say “none of the aftermarket carburetors have worked” , what exactly does that mean? Engine won’t start and run, starts and dies, hunting and surging?

According that PN was superseded to 790120. Ignore the first two charactors as that is a left over when I was a Sunbelt Outdoors dealer.

The problem is there two version on the net referencing the same PN.

Which version do you have? That would help narrow things down. And that way someone can contact Briggs as to which PN it should be.

I suspect the difference is the old part number is the low vent and the newer superceded part number of 790120 which according to Briggs is NLA would also require the replacement of the air filter mount.

I wish may vendors would get off their dead backsides and provide me valid updated price files with supersedes and NLA items noted. It would make life a lot easier.

I will flag the 790120 as a -NOS item here.

Mine is a 1998 sc621E Cub Cadet with a Briggs 12AE969j100 .
I'll have to get the carb off again to see where the primer hole is. That's the problem. All the carbs I have tried have the hole on the wrong side.

Ah, I found a carb like the one you have pictured in #1 photo. It should work. The primer hole is on the right side. I have two of the same mod. Cubs and now I'll have both up and running, I hope!

Thanks for the help.
