for a Craftsman I am rebuilding.. Its a fwd driven wheel.. hub: 1/2" diameter x 1 - 5/8" offset
8" outside diameter x 2" wide, hub 1/2" dia x 1 5/8" offset and has 53 teeth, in black. Anyone have one used off an old mower they could sell me cheap? I have paypal and will send you the $$ instantly. All the local mower shops want like $20 for one. Crazy. The whole mower ain't worth that. Ill show everyone pics of it when Im done..:) Thanks!! It looks like this ebay one..

I don't know if you have bought parts for a mower in resent years, but they aren't cheap. Maybe you can find one at a mower salvage yard? The problem as I see it the money you will spend for shipping or gas running after you might as well spend the 20 dollars and be done with it. I find I am not any better then you when it comes spending money.

I know in the area I live in with almost 4 dollars a gallon for gas, the time I went to various shops I would be better off with the 25 dollar wheel. I would bet you would be looking at 10 dollars for a used one and that only leaves 15 for your time and gas. It sure wouldn't be worth it to me. No I don't like to throw money away. Myself I have a wool lathe and didn't want to buy a wheel once and made one out of wood, painted it, it looked just like a real one, it also went for several years. Seeing you are looking for a drive wheel that wouldn't work??

I take it that the sheep don't mind if you turn wheels with the wool lathe:smile: Could not resist. I'm with Reynoldston on this if the mower is worth fixing bit the bullet and get a wheel from the repair center

Make sense to me. Spend 20 dollars to save 15 dollars. Good idea wool instead of wooden wheel then you can knit one. I am sure if you keep looking maybe you will find that 5 dollar wheel. The mower salvage yards that I go to around here know what the new prices are and charge half the cost of new which would be where I got the 10 dollars from. Maybe some mower repair shops would have a old one laying around ? I find the dealers only want to sell new so that is why I say mower repair shops. Maybe flee markets or lawn sales?

Okay guys, she is done.. I scored a rare Honda powered Craftsman with a pretty 'exotic' over head cam 5.5 engine that was run over by a car. I scored it fro free (basically) because I traded the guy for a little die cast Harley model that I got for free. After about $45 in parts it runs like a top. Its a low hour engine.. Anyone ever see one like it?

Nice mower, where was it run over? How old is it? Looks like it in great shape.
