MZ-t arrived today

What do you mean by "small"??? The M-ZT 52 has cast iron spindles and delivers 19,000 fpm blade tip speed. Most ZTR's in that price range have aluminum spindle housings. Cast iron spindles are commercial grade. Why do you think they wouldn't last?
 
they are small compared to other mowers of that size/category......small housing will mean smaller shaft
 
Thanks djdice I was thinking the same thing cast vs aluminum. I thought they were stronger but wanted someone with more zero turn experience to answer as I'm a newbie.
 
cast iron spindles will be stronger than aluminum but if you compare the size of the spindle housing it is noticeably smaller on the mzt.....just concerned with it holding up cutting 200 hrs a year.....homeowner use should be no problem but bigger the spindle the better heat will dissipate
