My mower slows on uphill grades

My Walker MT will slow when going up hill to the point of stopping. I have to reverse and turn back down hill to keep going. I notice that if I pull back slightly on the reverse and steering control handles the forward motion will kick in.....but I can't pull back to far or the machine will fully reverse. The mower will go up hill in reverse with no problems. I feel this might be some adjustment that needs to be made.....anyone have any ideas?

install a 1/2" wide jackshaft belt to stop slippage and get walker owners manual for hydro control linkage adjustments, if this does not help, then you possibly have aweak hydro on one side , but before replacing it ,drain and replace the fluid in the hydro with mobil one 15-50 oil.hope this helps as it has worked for me.
