My fuel tank expanded now it’s loose inside it’s holder.

I accidently left the snapper in direct sunlight for a few days .

The vent was closed because she was upright remember I recently swapped engines.

The tank expanded like a ballon I’ve done this w/ my 6gallon boat reserve tank and it always seams to revert back to almost orginale shape.

Or maybe I don’t notice the shape because the snappers tank sits in a holder so any shape change would effect it being held. I may have to strape it down.

is it possiable that during the expansion the holder was actually bent outward making it bigger?

Thanks

did the direct sunlight cause this?
No, the person who forgot to open the breather valve caused this.

My RER sits in the garage. Never have to worry about this.

I would remove the fuel and try a heat gun on low heat. You would need a vacuum source like a big shop vac to draw it back down to shape.

Then if your fuel tank is sun faded, blow compressed air inside. Take a propane torch and gently melt the top layer. Makes it like new. Several you tube videos on it.
