Thank you. This hobby is so addictive. I just can't get enough. I have stumbled across so many things that need a few repairs and are almost good as new. Its amazing what people are willing to get rid of. I paid no more than $20.00 for any of those mowers. Also got an echo weed trimmer and stihl ms 170 for free. Both are now running. I've only been at it for a month.

Its also nice to chat with like-minded folks that don't laugh at you for wanting to restore old mowers and find them a new home.

I collect and fix just about any kind of mower. It is good therapy

Welcome Gerald007! Good collection! I agree, I too find it therapeutic. Except in my case I'll restore them and usually keep them! I like that green one of yours. I'd actually like to find an old simple craftsman pusher like I used as a kid.

Thank you both. Its a lot of fun and very affordable to fix mowers so i'm not breaking the bank. People really seem to like the old rally. I think i might keep that one. Just clean up the rust. Either of you ever re-paint a mower? I'm thinkin of re-painting the rally but i'm kind of reluctant to lose the decals. What do you guys think?

I have re-painted a couple old snappers. They turned out good but I realized I'm a purist and really prefer original condition best. Even if it's less than perfect. I actually found a '79 snapper 21500PC that I put the engine off of the one I re-painted and it's one of my favorites now.
Re painting can look very nice until it's used. It just doesn't hold up as well as factory finish and yes, the decals are an issue. I like those to be just as they were from the factory.

Here's the '88 I painted. Did it last summer.

Now this is my '79. I love it so much better. I wound up just parting n out all the non-painted parts from the '88.

Great paintjob snapperfreak. I love it:wink:. I'm much more interested in the restoration rather than the collecting.I'm quite torn. I'll prob end up at least getting rid of the rust and painting the bottom edges of the deck on the old rally. I'm prob gonna keep that one. I do need a mower for my own lawn after all.

the bright green one in the middle. I like it because its got a throttle lever on it. Not as common on the newer mowers. I'm trying to make a deal with a fellow as we speak to aquire an old murray. It's pretty rough but nothing I would refuse.
