One dead cylinder on a twin mower engine. Hard starting issues quickly diagnosed. Many many more. Bad breakers or loose neutrals in your electrical panels....... Here's another one, dragging brake calipers on your car or truck. Low tire pressure found by excessive heat. Drafty cold air blowing in under your doors and windows.

Also, I purchased a FLIR IR gun a couple of years ago. Those are a time saver with hundreds of practical uses around the shop or in the home.

TOPDON for cell phone use seems little expensive at $200 plus and lots of BAD reviews when I checked on-line.
Anyone had any experience with the TopDon IR for cell phone use?
I've been using a 3M IR gun about $40 for several years with good results.
I use it to detect weak cylinders, Refrigeration Heat/cool, electrical bad connections, temperature when warming up bearing, when heating metal or flywheels so as to not overheat when using a puller, to check/compare actual temp of a running engine when so as to confirm that temp gauge is reading correctly. Can check the actual regulating temperature of the engine thermostat, check each cylinders running temperature, check the temperature of a chainsaw engine when in a cut so as to confirm that the carb is not set too lean causing overheating.
Really a handy tool.

I work on automotive, farm equipment and forklifts along with lawn and garden equipment, so my FLIR gun has paid for itself a couple of times over. I used non-contact temp guns for years and they worked pretty well most of the time, but the FLIR was a definite improvement.
