How do you eliminate or what do I use to treat a area in my yard that has mushrooms growing? It's a area about 10x10 where a tree was removed about 5 years ago.

I would think some sort of anti fungal spray or granule...

That's what I was thinking but don't know what to use. Thought maybe someone on here would be able to offer some info on what product to use.

You could apply some high content nitro fert to help slow it down,,but they will pretty much be there until the rotted roots or whatever it is under the ground get used up by them,or a real dry spell comes)

The mushroom you see is the fruit of the fungus in the soil.
They are part of the real world and a vital part of the ecostructere.
Be thankful you have them they are doing a power of good for your soil.
The beneficial affect of fungi is just short of the benefit of earthworms
Like all flowers they only appear for a short time so whip over them with the mulching mower and that will be it for a long time.

There are only 2 ways to prevent them growing.

1) did up your soil to a depth of around 30' and remove all organic matter from the soil
2) concrete your yard.

Dig them up roots and all.
Considering fungi are all underground except the flowering head.
There will be anything up to 20 times the weight of roots that can go better than 50' and be finner than a human hair.
That will be a lot of digging

I completely agree, you want the fungi, just mow them and let it be.

Mushrooms are such a nuisance and need to be dealt with immediately. Some mushrooms can be a detriment to your, your kids, and your pets health. If you find a mushroom in your lawn first figure out what type of mushroom it is then deal with it asap.
