Murray 12538 Model 13ac76lf058 Shift-on-the-go needs adjusting

I have a Murray 12538 Model 13ac76lf058 and the Shift-on-the-go needs some adjusting. This mower has the yellow shift lever on the dash. I have been looking for a manual but am unable to find anything, or even find videos on how to adjust this setup.
 
Sounds more like the variable speed drive pulley is not sliding freely and allowing the belts to sync correctly. May also be an issue with the belts being worn.
 
Figured out the belt on the mower was too long - and worn out. Replaced with a 69" belt. The brake/clutch adjustment was way off as well. Once I adjusted it the mower works like a champ, and my very little wife can now reach the peddle.
