I have a Murray 10/30 at least 15 years old. Old and reliable 'til now. Can't get it to engage any gear. Reversed it in last time I used it, set it in neutral-now no go. Any ideas? don't want to scrap her.

Do you mean the lever is stuck or is the engine running and it wont go forward?

 Drive belt was first place I looked. So looked again and found drive belt was off tensioner wheel which I didn't notice before and now feel a right numty. Thank you

Glad you got it sorted out. I have a question for you. On this side of the pond, I have not heard the phrase "right numty" - would you elaborate, please?

"right numty" or numpty = properly foolish, inept as far as mechanical things are concerned. It's slang and I think it derives from the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme - all he had to do was sit on the wall!
