Murrary riding mower

i have a 1997murray riding mower when I put away for the season it was ok yesterday i charged the battery and started it. step on foward pedal and got nothing check belt ok,a lot of play in pedal as if something unhooked. I'm stumped.

Sounds like a spring came off. Look at the small pulley that the belt rides on it. It should have a rod on it that goes to the brake pedal and should also have a spring on it that goes to the frame.

Post your model number and I shall get a pic of it for you

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))

I would guess a frozen idler pulley or pulley bracket.
