I planted a bunch of mums last fall and none of them are popping up yet. Anyone ever plant mums? Aren't they supposed to come back year after year? I can't wait to see if they pop up, I'm checking every day!

I'm not sure where you live, but mums are only annuals where I live. I have never seen them come back year after year but it may be different in different areas.

Perennials keep coming back, annuals you have to keep planting. It should specify somewhere on the seed packet. But yes, mums are annuals. I don't think it matters what zone you're in, but I could be wrong about that.

I have not myself but I do know a friend of mine who was out in the garden the other day and was attacked by fire ants. We have never had issues like this in our area before, at most the random ant, none of this fire stuff though.

Maybe the Perennials would be a better choice for you?

The mums I buy are not from seeds, they are potted plants and they are not annuals. They are supposed to come back year after year. I asked my friend who bought the same ones, hers are back and mine are not. The only difference is we live in the country and she lives it town. We are usually about 2 weeks behind out here, so wish me luck!
