Has anyone used the Mulching Plate on the Turf Tiger?

I have not, but I would think it would leave grass clumps in the yard if you are cutting a lot off at one time. Mulching does better with less blades and a smaller cut width. I had a mulch plate on a 34 in. mower and it was really bad!

I was only going to use it to mulch or cutup fall leaves.

Thanks for your reply.

Leave it on and use all the time on my Scag Tiger Cub 48" advantage deck w/high lift mulching blades. And works great for mulching leaves.

Thanks for your reply. I used mine yesterday for the first time and it did quite well. It seemed to cut up the pine needles, something that I've had trouble doing in the past. One thing was the amount of dust flying which was a lot at times. Also, I was getting a lot of leaves and stuff on top of the deck. One thing it did do was really clean the underside of my deck. I am using the original scag turf tiger blades that came with the mower. I have a set of Oregon blades on the shelf in my garden shed; I think they are called gator blades but not sure. I haven't tried them yet.

I took the small baffle off before putting the mulching plate on. It said to do that in the instructions.
